Draft regulations for kindergarten and after-school care under consultation

Kindergarten and SFO are important services for children and families in Frøya. To ensure quality, predictability, and good framework conditions for children, parents, and employees, several changes to the regulations are now proposed.

The main proposals are:

  • Common opening hours from 07:00 to 16:30 for both kindergarten and SFO.
  • Summer closure in kindergartens during weeks 29 and 30, as well as during Christmas and Easter holidays.
  • An extra planning day in kindergartens to strengthen quality and development.
  • Adjustments to holiday scheduling and opening hours for SFO.

 

The current regulations for kindergarten and SFO, as well as the proposed changes, are available on the municipality’s website.
The municipality welcomes input from parents, employees, organizations, and other interested parties.

Consultation responses must be submitted by October 17, 2025.
